A bilateral agreement was signed between officials of the government of Ethiopia and Uganda, aiming at expanding the existing political relationship to economic and social frontier.
On 26 December, the two countries' ministers of transport, energy, health and mayors of Addis Ababa city and Kampala have signed memorandum of understanding. The signing event in Addis Ababa was attended by President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda who was on official state visit and Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn.
