Yamaha has yet another new cool personal home studio product. The AW-4416. It kind of does everything. It's really cool too. It's a sampler, hard-disk recorder, fully-automated digital mixer, digital editor, effects processor, CD burner, and drum machine if you want to load up the sampler pads! You could probably use it to DJ and become a heavy real-time live re-mixer with a very big bag of tricks.

To me it's the bomb in personal, no BS recording packages. What I mean is that a lot of people go out and buy PC-based systems. There are pros and cons of these systems, but I sit back and watch an entertaining sequence of events unfold when friends buy their new systems: hardware conflicts, compatibility weirdness, software-learning curves, big crashes, and so on. This is okay if you're up for it and if you want to start recording in 2-6 months time.
Many people don't fancy these types of software-based systems, and find the whole bothersome learning curve damn annoying. I can relate. If you want a reliable good sounding quick system that doesn't kill creativity, the Yamaha AW-4416 is well worth checking out. I...
