Dr. Kelly Victory's last name pretty much says it all. After being diagnosed in 1997 with a degenerative spine disease, the then 37-year-old emergency and trauma specialist at South Pointe and Parma Community hospitals was told she'd be lucky to turn out like actor Christopher Reeve - paralyzed, in a wheelchair and breathing on a ventilator.
But if her last name is any indication, it's clear that she has been able to turn a lemon into lemonade.
Dr. Victory now is 43 and serves as chief medical officer for Whole Health Management Inc., a Beachwood firm that sets tip in-house health care clinics at large companies such as Continental Airlines and Nissan, She also is a co-founder of Neopreneur Exchange, a local organization that supports entrepreneurs, and is a trustee of the Town Hall speakers bureau.
