Wesleyan University's new marketing campaign-which likens the small, liberal arts college to schools in the Ivy League-has many students angry that administrators would seek "wannabe" status.
Senior sociology major Scott Cavanaugh, 21, of Auburn, N.H., said many students at the Middletown campus are offended by the new slogan, "Wesleyan, the Independent Ivy."
"It sounds like a wannabe slogan....
