HONG KONG -- Vidal Sassoon has opened its first teaching facility in Asia. Located in China, the Vidal Sassoon Academy Shanghai contains both a school for professional hairstylists and a salon for the public. The first classes began in June and the salon, which will offer services for men and women, is scheduled to make its debut within a month.
Paul Chatelle, Principal of VSA Shanghai, said that the idea for this new school first took hold in 1997 when Procter & Gamble (which owns the Vidal Sassoon hair care brand) began selling VS products in China.
