LEWISVILLE - In one of the biggest office leases so far this year, Verizon Wireless Inc. has signed on for 90,000 square feet at Vista Ridge Office Center I off State Highway 121 in Lewisville.
In doing so, the mobile phone operator bails out Woburn, Mass.-based Genuity Inc., a company spun off in 2000 by its own parent, Verizon Communications Inc.
Genuity, which was acquired out of bankruptcy in February for $137 million by Broomfield, Colo.-based Level 3 Communications, vacated 76,000 square feet in Vista Ridge I last year. It still occupies 121,000 square feet in an adjacent building, Vista Ridge Office Center II, and owns about 23 acres of land on the site.
