The founders of Guardian Business Solutions Inc. in Brookfield don't necessarily see the future of software implementation in the manufacturing sector as much as they hear it. What they hear is voice-recognition technology that they believe will become a mainstay on the floors of manufacturing plants, creating greater efficiencies in manufacturing and administrative processes.
"We look at voice technology taking over as the data input device over the keyboard," said Bridget Lazlo, president and cofounder of Guardian Business Solutions.
Guardian Business Solutions provides a unique software
system that enables workers on a plant floor to access job information that is usually available only in paper form, or only to executive or administrative personnel who are not readily available on the plant floor.
The software, called Shop Talk, incorporates voice-recognition, touch-screen and wireless technology.
"This is the future. Right now a keyboard is the only way to get information into a system, but voice technology will allow for greater efficiencies," said Bob Lazio, director of marketing for Guardian Business Solutions and Bridget Lazio's husband.
Bridget Lazio, and co-founder James Mifflin Keepers, had nearly 15 years of experience in implementing data management software systems used in the manufacturing industry when they decided to start Guardian Business Solutions in 1997. Both had worked at Pilot Network Systems Inc. in Brookfield, now known as InterNetworX Systems Inc., providing data management systems to manufacturing businesses.
