Flat-rolled steel price increases on the US West Coast are being greeted cautiously by buyers this month, who say there is too much uncertainty in the market, preventing them from purchasing material.
There has been some limited upward movement in transaction prices, with hot-rolled coil up $8-10 per ton from some buyers' previous purchases, but most market sources are losing no sleep over the possibility that prices will take off any time soon.
