ulead recently released Photoimpact 11, the latest version of their complete image editing suite, and it's great. But then I wouldn't have expected anything else. I've been a devotee of Photoimpact since version 3. I've long been impressed with its combination of ease of use and ever-increasing feature-richness. And it just keeps getting better.

I work with a ton of photographs as I make Memorial Tribute Videos (see "Producing Memorial Tribute Videos," November 2005, pp. 26-30). The family brings me photographs of the deceased. Using Photoimpact, I scan them into my computer and go to work on each photo, cleaning, restoring, and otherwise enhancing every image that I will use in my production.
In this field there's very little time between booking and delivery (rarely more than a few days), and I have to work fast to have the video ready in time for the service. Many times, Photolmpact's auto-correction features (particularly those upgraded in the new version) will provide all the color and lighting correction I need. Boom, I'm done; next photo. Other times I'll use the more advanced features to do in-depth color correction and photo retouching and enhancement, and Photoimpact delivers here as well.
