Potential divestiture just one of a handful of assets on the Mock
A slew of bidders are expected to show up for the auction of Thomson Reuters' healthcare division.
The Ann Arbor, Mich. -based target, which Thomson put up for sale in early June, may be of interest to industry rivals like Reed Elsevier Co. and Wolters Kluwer, according to two sources, who anticipate a value of roughly $1.3 billion.
Like Thomson, Elsevier and Wolters "compete in various data and analytic services," that cater to hospitals and various medical practitioners.
Then there's Verisk Analytics Inc., a company that is currently exploring acquisition opportunities outside of its core industry expertise, which includes riskassessment services primarily in property and casualty insurance. Verisk, observers say, has been particularly keen to build out its healthcare exposure.
