Credit Suisse has hired Derek Armstrong from Goldman Sachs to be head of debt financing for Asia, strengthening its capital markets franchise after a series of recent departures.
Armstrong was a director at Goldman and head of leveraged finance for Asia excluding Japan.
He is returning to his old firm -- he was head of capital markets for southeast Asia at Credit Suisse First Boston until joining Goldman Sachs in October 2004.
As a managing director, Armstrong will oversee 25 bankers in Asia outside Japan, bringing Credit Suisse's Asian debt capital markets (DCM), leveraged finance and structured lending businesses together under a single...
