Celebrations in Charleston and Martinsburg marked a 14-year effort to develop the first all-new corporate jet to be built in 45 years.
Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp. recently received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration for business-class aircraft.
The company brought the first retail SJ30-2 jet to Yeager Airport in Charleston Dec. 5 after showing off the corporate jet in Martinsburg. The $5.9 million jet was presented to its buyer, Texas businessman Douglas Jaffe. Jaffe is the CEO of Jetran International, a San Antonio aircraft leasing company.
