SOUTH DALLAS - Low-profile,
California-based ServiceCraft L.L.C. is jumping full-blown into North Texas' competitive public warehouse market, picking up 1.35 million square feet of space.
Privately held ServiceCraft earlier this month signed a seven-year lease for a giant warehouse in South Dallas' Turnpike Distribution Center and on Oct. 8 it acquired Dallas-based warehouse company Acme Distribution Inc.
The lease with Dallas industrial and commercial developer Trammell Crow Co. is for 600,000 square feet of space in South Dallas. The building was vacated last May as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization by Service Merchandise Co. of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition, ServiceCraft's acquisition of 20-year-old Acme gave it 750,000 square feet at five different facilities in Dallas and Grand Prairie.
ServiceCraft executives, who shun publicity for the Buena Park-company, declined to reveal the dollar amount of the deals.
