By the end of April, Saratoga Spring Water Co. will have an online store designed to put its family of products within reach of thirsty people everywhere.
"We get 25 or 30 e-mails a day from people asking where they can buy our water," said Adam Madkour, president of the Saratoga Springs-based company.
But Internet sales are only part of Madkour's plan for the company he purchased a little over a year ago. He also intends to put the Saratoga brand into national distribution for the first time in its 130-year history, and expects that, by 2004, about 20 percent of sales will be on the West Coast.
And, although in many ways Saratoga Spring Water is just about where it was when Madkour bought it in January 2002-with $10 million in sales concentrated on the East Coast-so far everything has gone according to plan.
"Absolutely," Madkour said. "I cannot for a minute say that it hasn't. Our East Cost business has flourished. We are very thankful, everything is falling into place."
He said sales should top $11 million in 2003.
