ORLANDO, Fla. - After revelations of a major accounting scandal in July, Rotech Healthcare announced the resignation of CEO Steve Linehan Aug. 21.
The company, which could not be reached for comment, did not disclose why Linehan resigned. The most likely reason is that he took the fall for a consultant who allegedly fabricated $30 million in non-existent sales to the Department of Veteran's Affairs, say industry watchers.
