Two new, third generation UAV launchers delivered by Robonic Ltd, of Tampere, Finland to EADS in August, saw their first active service in Putlos, Germany in early September. The launchers were used to launch DO-DT 25 jet-powered target drones during a German Army exercise.
"This new launcher type allows a wide selection of. UAVs to be launched at high velocity in quick succession when so required. The design provides for autonomous operation, which, coupled with transportability even in a standard 20ft container, eases the logistic demand on the end-user", said Robonic's Managing Director, Mr. JuhaMoisio.
The launchers are the first series-produced 3rd-generation design. This design accommodates multiple requirements of the customer, and similar launchers have been proposed to the UK CATS programme. Robonic is also offering the same and similar systems to other LJAV manufacturers and suppliers.
