Remke Markets Inc., a fixture in Northern Kentucky for 96 years, is opening its first Ohio store. The Covington-based grocery store chain will launch its fifth supermarket this fall in Amelia, said William Remke, president.
The store will occupy a 33,000-square-foot building that formerly housed Sacks. Food Avenue, an independent grocer that closed about six months ago, he said. Remke is leasing the building from the adjacent Van Leunen's, and will spend about $1 million to renovate it. Van Leunen's is the major tenant at the strip center...
