Abstract
The FCC's Wireline Competition Bureau has granted an application filed by GCX Holdings Ltd., Vanco US LLC, Vanco Solutions, Inc., Reliance Globalcom Services, Inc., and Reef Bidco Ltd. to transfer control of Reliance and the Vanco companies from GCX to Reef, conditioned on the applicants' compliance with national security and law enforcement commitments and undertakings they made to the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector, also known as Team Telecom. Specifically, the six positions are for representatives for commercial mobile radio service providers; cable providers; schools that are eligible to receive E-rate discounts; libraries that are eligible to receive E-rate discounts; incumbent local exchange carriers; and state consumer advocates. T-Mobile US, Inc., on behalf of its Sprint Communications Co. L.P. subsidiary, has filed a petition for rulemaking asking the FCC to amend its rules "to eliminate the outdated requirement that TTY-based relay service be capable of communicating with American Standard Code for Information Interchange ('ASCII') format."
