Online home loan giant Quicken Loans Inc. recently made plans to open an Internet home lending center in Cleveland. Modeled after its Metro Detroit lending center offices, the Cleveland location will add 350 jobs to the city with annual salaries totaling $30 million per year.
Quicken has not found a permanent location for its Ohio-based Internet home lending center, but the company has been in talks with the city of Cleveland and plans to have a new office up and running there by the end of 2006. The company's target size for the office is about 35,000 square feet.
The Cleveland office will be the seventh-largest office for the nation's top online lender.
Quicken, which lends in all 50 states, has smaller offices spread throughout the company, but its largest operations reside in the Detroit area. The company, which boasts of its 40% repeat and referral business, has seen more than 900%...
