If outside capital had come their way, Thomas Hogan and Douglas Golub would not have turned it down. But new customers came in so fast for their Web-based health care office system that they did not have time, or much of a need, to look for any.
In three years since starting Medisked LLC, Hogan and Golub, both 26, have attracted 33 customers and hired four employees. The company operates out of the Rochester Institute of Technology business incubator, Venture Creations, and may be ready to go out on its own in the next year.
The idea for the business grew from Hogan's experience working for Venture Forthe Inc., a nursing home owned by his family in Niagara Falls. He asked Golub, a friend since undergraduate study at SUNY College at Geneseo, to help find software that would streamline the many schedules and forms required at the home.
The friends also had earned graduate degrees at the same institution, Hogan received his MBA at the E. Philip Saunders College of Business at RIT; Golub earned a master of science in information technology from RIT's B. Thomas...
