Pratt & Whitney Canada PW210 Engine Achieves First Run Milestone

Abstract

The PW210 is a new generation turboshaft engine offering best-in-class performance in the 1,000 shp class for single and intermediate/medium category twin-engine helicopters. Incorporating the latest advances in material and compressor technology, as well as a dual channel, full authority digital electronic control system (FADEC), the PW210 will set a new standard in performance, ease of operation, as well as in fuel consumption. It will also provide a significant improvement in power-to-weight ratio over current engines in its class.
