For some people, pizza is one of the four basic food groups. It's eaten hot or cold, and nuked for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Pizza Pipeline Inc., of Spokane, caters to these people by making its product available almost any time.
The Spokane-based company goes beyond the typical carry-out or delivery services; it sells its food at Seafirst Stadium, Joseph A. Albi Memorial Stadium, and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. At its downtown and Spokane Valley locations, it even offers pizza for breakfast, starting at 6:30 a.m., says Mike Kight, one of the company's owners.
We want to be able to give people pizza anytime they want it," Kight says.
Pizza Pipeline, which is owned by Kight and Gene Boik, who met while attending Washington State University, is holding its own in the competitive pizza market here--in fact, it's growing in size and sales, and constantly is trying new concepts and products.
The Spokane company opened its first restaurant at N1303 Washington in 1988. Now, it owns four Pizza Pipeline Express outlets here and 10 full-service restaurants here and elsewhere in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Colorado.
