PORTLAND, Ore. - Highvolume budget pasta-house pioneer Guss Dussin, founder of the 33-unit Old Spaghetti Factory chain based here, has turned over day-to-day control of the family-owned OSF International Inc. to his son and son-in-law.
As part of the restructuring that elevates Dussin to chairman, his son Chris moves from executive vice president to president and his son-in-law David Cook from senior vice president to executive vice president. Company sources said that among the promoted pair's first projects will be the opening of two restaurants utilizing a new prototype building design that easily can be modified, rotated and flipped to respond to site constraints and local design requirements.
"We're really just adjusting titles," Guss Dussin said of the reorganization. "This is essentially the way we've been doing things for the past year. Chris is handling more of the day-to-day work, and David is concentrating on the development and financial ends."
