EFFICIENCY MPs grill Sir David Nicholson and Andrew Lansley over the impact of the NHS efficiency drive
NHS organisations will inevitably resort to slash-and-burn cuts to frontline services to hit government efficiency targets, senior DoH officials have admitted to MPs.
In evidence to the House of Commons health select committee last week, NHS chief executive Sir David Nicholson said the DoH was 'very alert' and took action to prevent cuts that damage care.
