Natixis CEO Laurent Mignon confirmed Aug. 6 that the company is eyeing Pioneer Global Asset Management SpA, but he denied rumors that the company is looking to sell its Coface unit.
Speaking to analysts, Mignon admitted that Natixis was interested in acquiring Pioneer, owned by UniCredit SpA, "given the strategy to be a world-leading asset manager."
Pioneer would strengthen and broaden Natixis' fund management business in Europe, he said; Natixis is largely French-based.
