Abstract
The National Association of State 911 Administrators (NASNA) has expressed concerns with next-generation 911 (NG-911) legislation pending in Congress, including potential amended language. [...]it said that "HR 7624 is an opportunity to 1) maintain the successful programming provided to 911 currently jointly housed in NHTSA and NTIA and 2) establish a means to objectively and collaboratively evaluate 911 programming on the federal level. The Public Safety Next Generation 9-1-1 Coalition, which is composed of seven other major public safety groups, urged Senate leaders in August to include in legislation $15 billion for NG-911 deployment and borrowing authority for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to launch a grant program in a timely manner (TR, Aug. 26).
