IRVINE, CALIF. - H. Guy Snyder, chairman and chief executive of 140-unit In-N-Out Burger, died Dec. 3 of undisclosed causes at his home in Lancaster, Calif., echoing a tragedy that hit the closely held company six years ago and raising questions about its leadership continuity.
Snyder, who was 49, had taken over leadership of the pioneering drive-thru chain after the December 1993 death of his younger brother, former president and chief executive Richard Snyder. He died at age 41 in the crash of a corporate jet that also claimed the lives of four others, including two other In-N-Out executives.
