The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has selected Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance as recordkeeper for its combined $850 million 401(k) and 457 plans. Its previous provider was Prudential Retirement Services. Salomon Acosta, manager of deferred compensation, confirmed it is in the final stages of negotiating a contract with Great-West, adding that the search was initiated because its contract with Prudential is set to expire in June. He declined to say why it chose Great-West and why it decided to replace Prudential. Wendy Young, a consultant at Mercer Investment Consulting who assisted in the search, did not return calls.
