Deutsche Bank hired Christopher Babu in March as a director in mortgage derivatives trading in New York.
Babu joins from Bank of America and will report to John Roach, head of mortgage derivative trading.
BNP Paribas has hired Evan Zuckert from XL Capital as a director working on structured transactions in its commodity derivatives group in New York. The group is part of BNPP's energy commodities export project division.
Zuckert joined XL in 2002, and previously worked at Merrill Lynch and Phibro Energy. He reports to Marc Fontaine, managing director and co-head of commodity-indexed transactions.
ASIA PACIFIC
Diane Lam, a team leader for seven years in Asia Pacific structured finance at Standard & Poor's, has joined Financial Security Assurance in Singapore.
She left the rating agency at the end of last year amid a restructuring, and started at FSA in mid-February.
A director, she will be the third and most senior member of the Singapore office, reporting to Michael Horn, managing director for Asia. Horn is based in Tokyo, FSA's second office in Asia.
Another director, Scott Kurtz, has relocated from Singapore to London.
Horn told SFINews that the monoline is considering more hires in the region.
"Our outlook in Asia is optimistic and our approach is to have people on the ground," he said.
"We see opportunities in multiple sectors in multiple markets, and are looking to replicate the business lines we have elsewhere."
Lam will be responsible for a range of products including structured finance, corporates, agency and project finance in Asia.
