Metron Systems Inc. (MSI), Los Angeles, a leader in the development of high-performance, non-contact measurement systems for the global dimensional inspection market, has launched the G2X, a non- contact, optical laser scanner that could have a significant impact on how complex machined parts are manufactured around the world.
The scanner - a portable device that makes rapid, precise measurements of highly complex and reflective machined parts - is perhaps the industry's first non-contact dimensional-measurement and inspection system that successfully meets all of the manufacturing industry's measurements requirements.
"The pressure on manufacturers around the globe to produce better, cheaper products under faster timelines is at an all-time high, especially within the aerospace and automobile industries," said Donald Rich, the newly appointed president at Metron Systems.
"Meeting manufacturers' expectations will require the adoption of fresh, innovative technology to achieve higher levels of quality at reduced costs. With our new scanning system, MSI is pushing past established limits of conventional measurement systems for the global dimensional measurement and inspection market. We believe this new scanner will become an industry standard in the very near future," added Rich.
MSI is currently demonstrating the G2X at WESTEC, North America's largest annual metalworking and manufacturing exposition being held this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center. WESTEC attracts more than 764 machine tool builders, regional...
