US card issuer MBNA and financial services group Merrill Lynch have agreed to extend the multiyear agreement under which MBNA issues the Merrill+ credit card. The terms of the new agreement have not been disclosed. However, MBNA noted that the agreement period extends beyond the early January close of the merger between MBNA and Bank of America.
