Megaplex Theatres, a part of the Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment Group, is preparing to more than double the size of its theater complex at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
Layton-based U.S. Development, in partnership with Thanksgiving Point, received site plan approval from the Lehi City Planning Commission Oct. 20 to increase the number of screens at the complex from eight to 17.
While U.S. Development officials could not be reached for comment as to when construction would begin, Blake Andersen, senior vice president of Megaplex Theaters, said plans call for the expanded center, which will be leased from Thanksgiving Point, to be open by next fall.
Currently, the theater complex has eight screens and 1,200 seats. It will grow to 17 screens and more than 4,000 seats, and a full food court will be added. All...
