Abstract
Datacenter provider Equinix has opened the third phase of its London LDS data-center in Slough within the last month, adding 4,000 square meters of space, and capacity for 1,400 server cabinets. Equinix is currently in the process of installing customers in the new space, with demand mainly coming from financial firms wanting to be located in the same datacenter as data vendors such as Bloomberg that already have presences in LD5, officials say. Equinix managing director Russell Poole said it's about optimization rather than latency, because you're a cross-connect away from the data vendors.
