What is a MAC address?
Network addressing operates at a number of levels, providing for intercommunication capabilities between various transmission protocols, such as TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), Ethernet, ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), and FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface).
