Buena Park's Aztec Motel, Cypress' Meridian Plaza Change Hands

For years, motorists on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach could see Eiler Larson waving at them from the corner of Forest Avenue and South Coast Highway.
The Danish immigrant for years could be found standing on the corner waving to motorists as they entered the city.
Larson, who became known as the city's greeter, has long since vacated that street corner. But a statue honoring him stands outside a restauran(-named Greeter's Corner in his honor-near where he once plied his unofficial trade.
And an old hotel a few blocks south of that corner assumed his name when it was converted into a bed and breakfast operation in 1981.
Now, Eiler's Inn is being taken over by a local partnership headed by Kim Silveira.
Her group purchased the inn for more than $1.4 million from Nico Wirtz, who had inherited it from his family.
