The Kingdom Development Corp. homebuilding firm of Solon has a new home of its own.
Many homebuilders decorate their offices in sumptuous, traditional and Western Reserve styles. But that's not for Kingdom president Jeff Halpern. The company's new offices at Solon Executive Park in Solon are sleek and modernist.
Moreover, Mr. Halpern and his wife, Stacie, designed the space themselves, with touches such as high ceilings, drop-down lights and bold, contemporary blue colors.
"Traditional (design), that's not me," Mr. Halpern said.
But Kingdom moved its offices last month for a conventional reason: it needed the space. The company moved to 6,300 square feet from about 3,000 square feet within an office it shared with the Sydell Miller Family Foundation at Arbor Court in Solon.
More is on tap in this space than new desks and offices for Kingdom's 11-person office staff.
The space includes a wing with its own door that will serve as an in-house design studio and sample center. Customers will receive time to work...
