The UK division of Israeli media group Keshet is looking to take its drama strategy to the next level with a series of senior hires as it seeks to establish production units in Europe.
The company, best known for producing terror drama Hatufim (Prisoners Of War), which was renamed Homeland for its US remake, is searching for a head of scripted for its UK business to work alongside exec producer and head of co-productions Sara Johnson.
It wants to capitalise on 6 x 60-minute BBC1 commission The A Word, an adaptation of an Israeli series being penned by Marvellous writer Peter Bowker. Co-produced by Fortitude indie Fifty Fathoms, it deals with the impact of autism on a family. The series is currently in pre-production and is being shot in the Lake District.
