As Majestic Marble & Granite has expanded, the fabrication business upgraded its lineup of machinery to meet the demand
In 2007, Scott Hanes purchased Majestic Marble in Orlando, FL, and at the time, the company was entirely a cultured marble countertop manufacturer. Hanes transitioned the company to a granite business by 2008, and changed its name to Majestic Marble & Granite. "We started with a Blue Ripper rail saw," said Hanes. "Now, we have progressed to where we are today."
The company works with a selection of natural stone, including granite, marble and quartz surfacing, as well as still manufacturing cultured marble products. The shop currently produces 500 square feet a day of granite, but has a capacity of 800 square feet. To get these numbers, it has become very process driven. By following a formula, Majestic Marble & Granite can do the same steps over and over - omitting any quality issues, while keeping its labor force low.
In the shop, Majestic Marble & Granite primarily runs Park Industries machinery. Among the lineup is a Fusion CNC saw/waterjet, a Titan CNC stone center and a Fastback edge polisher. At the time of press, the company had just installed a second Titan machine.
