Running events about life-changing innovations makes the Hewlett Packard events manager tick. By Tom Hall
Events have changed unrecognisably since Jane Culcheth Beard started her career in the late 1980s. She says the industry has grown creatively and technologically. Culcheth Beard has been at the forefront of this growth, producing techheavy conferences for software company Novell before she joined Hewlett-Packard (HP), the world's largest IT company, three years ago.
With an eight-strong team located in eight different countries, Culcheth Beard is usually found on one end of a webcam. "I love the diversity of challenging opinions my team throws up. In a big organisation, event resources are dependent on having the best agencies and suppliers."
