One of the really fun things we have been doing as part of creating content for NHRA.com is something called the "Fast Five." After every national event, I have to pick my five favorite moments from the event that we use to create a video that is shot at the track by Lauren Adams and edited the next morning in Glendora, Calif., by Steve Tanaka.
The task of picking just five things that capture the essence of the race can be quite challenging. In the case of the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties in Topeka, my initial list had more than 20 highlights that I had to narrow down to just five with the help of co-hosts Amanda Busick and Dave Rieff, and the challenge was almost impossible.
Here's my final list and some of the highlights that missed the cut. You may notice that, in an effort to get as much in as possible, sometimes I cheat (creative license) and combine two moments.
