Assembling Archival Audio for the PBS Documentary
Based on author Harper Lee's experiences growing up in the segregated South, the 1960 novel To Kill A Mockingbird confronted the fear and prejudice prevalent in its author's world from the point of view of a curious young girl named Scout. The book and its characters- including Scout, her highminded father Atticus and mysterious neighbor Boo Radley- endure in the American Zeitgeist, but Lee herself receded from the limelight shortly after the novel was published. To Kill A Mockingbird remains her only book, and she hasn't granted an interview in nearly 50 years.
