A brownie business that began in Ladonna Capozzi's kitchen, and generated $15 million in annual sales within three years has been sold to a subsidiary of Campbell's Soup Co. for an undisclosed amount.
John Capozzi, a partner in Greenfield's Healthy Foods in Fairfield, said the no-fat, all-natural brownies--at 120 calories a serving--answered a consumer craving. "We happened to come along at the right time. People are looking for healthy food that tastes good. I joke that with most healthy foods, the box tastes better than the product."
