Gartner Institute is banking on change.
The business, based in Eden Prairie, is a joint venture between GartnerGroup Inc., the Stamford, Conn.-based information technology (IT) consultants, and two other ownership groups. The stand-alone institute this month launched its first training and certification program for IT professionals, aimed not at building technical expertise but at ensuring that IT efforts are integrated with the overall goals of a business.
"This is a response to the industry's need for a different kind of IT worker," said Tony Abena, president and CEO of Gartner Institute, announcing the launch of the programs. Company officials project revenue in excess of $10 million in the first year.
