My heart sank when the two volumes that make up this work thumped onto my doormat. A 1,000-- page encyclopedia is a daunting prospect for any book reviewer, let alone a work that professes to cover such an overhyped subject as e-commerce. Indeed, the editor claims that the work covers all aspects of e-commerce -- people and companies that have been involved, major events of the past 20 years and just everything in between.
