Voluntary accreditation scheme for CV repairers
The FTA and the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) have developed a voluntary accreditation scheme for third-party CV repair and maintenance workshops.
At an MT roundtable last year, senior Traffic Commissioner Philip Brown reminded operators that it was their responsibility under the O-licence undertakings to ensure their vehicles were properly maintained. He called on the industry to develop an accreditation scheme for maintenance providers.
