FLA and MORI See Rise in Consumer Credit
Figures released by the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) show that demand for consumer credit continues to surge with figures for June rising by 15 percent year-on-year. During the second quarter of 1996, FLA members provided consumer credit to the sum of L5,905 million, an increase of 22 percent over the same period in 1995. In June, FLA members provided L610 million of finance for plastic cards (including store cards and credit cards), a rise of 19 percent on the same time last year, and up 8 percent over May.
