The accident in Dallas involving Kenny Koretsky's and Bruce Alien's Pro Stock cars was one of the most memorable and horrifying images of the 2005 season. Miraculously, neither driver sustained life-threatening injuries, though their respective futures, at least as far as driving is concerned, remain very much up in the air. Koretsky, whose injuries included a broken wrist and tailbone, cracked ribs, and bruised heart, has spent the last few months at his Pennsylvania home healing and tending to various business interests. National DRAGSTER Senior Editor Kevin McKenna caught up with Koretsky as he was preparing for the season's start and asked about his recovery, return to driving, and role as team owner.
ND: First off, how are you feeling?
KK: I've been to a lot of doctors over the last few months, and they all tell me I am getting better. Thankfully, I am feeling a lot better. I still need to get a medical release if I'm going to drive again, but I don't think that would be a problem, especially since we've still got another month to go before the season starts. I still don't remember a whole lot about the accident, but I know that it could have been much, much worse. Thankfully, Bruce is feeling better as well.
ND: Are you going to drive again?
KK: Maybe, but not right away. As of now, I will run 23 races with...
