When John Cook was taking his Cobb County company public, he longed for an upscale restaurant nearby where he could have lunches with the investors and attorneys involved in the IPO process.
A successful IPO and a few years later, John Cook, the CEO of The Profit Recovery Group International Inc., is finally getting his wish. On May 8, he and his son, Tom Cook, who owns and operates several restaurants, are scheduled to open the upscale Nathaniel's with some outside advice from U.S. Rep. Johnny Isakson, former president of Northside Realty, and his son, John A. Isakson, who will be a partner in the restaurant.
It will be located on Powers Ferry Road near the Windy Hill Road exit off Interstate 75, an area that's home to many corporate headquarters, such as Cousins Properties Inc. and
Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. And it's not far from East Cobb's affluent neighborhoods. However, the area doesn't have many choices for upscale dining.
