A Middle Eastern restaurant chain founded by an engineer has a blueprint for expansion.
La Shish Inc. of Dearborn has restaurants under construction in Livonia and Canton Township, which will bring the company's restaurant total to seven by the end of the year. The company also has three restaurants in Dearborn, one in Farmington Hills and one in Warren.
The two being built will be the prototype restaurants for a proposed national chain, said Charles Saad, vice president of operations.
"Our intention is to go nationwide with Middle Eastern cuisine," he said. La Shish should be ready to build restaurants outside of Michigan in one or two years, he said.
