After serving in the Marine Corps. in World War II, Alan Gerry returned to Liberty, N.Y., and started a television and appliance business. Because of Liberty's distance from New York City and its mountainous terrain, television reception in the community was poor. In 1954, he built tbe first master antenna system to improve reception and enhance his store's television sales.
